I've owned and used this knife since 1980 and it has been the single best hunting knife Ive ever used. I'm too old to hunt these days but boy, I wish it could talk!
I bought it at a local gun show here in Southern California back when they were still legal! From the guy who made it but I never got his name or other info.
He had a small handful of them, all beauties, but this was the only one with such an incredible, hollow-ground edge. It is amazingly sharp, like a barber's straight razor, with a double-concave hg edge.
Handle is solid burled walnut with hand-machined finger-guard and pommel over full and hidden tang. This maker did not sell his knives with sheath but I ultimately found one that looks and feels as if it were custom-made for this knife, included here.
It's expertly done and was obviously made by someone with excellent skills. Condition is astonishinglyIwell-preserved, as you can see. T looks great but even better than its look is the feel of it in your hand. Then there's its performance.Just TRY to find better at any price. Measures 105" long with a 5-5/8" blade. An outstanding heirloom knife by any measure.
Please think "yard sale" or "flea market" not "Walmart" or Nordstroms. If we've really screwed up, that's different, but I promise you that won't happen. That should work well for both of us.
